Example Album: Schlagen / Dimension
Location: Japan
Years Active: ~1980's
Style: Metal percussion
Zeitlich Vergelter was an industrial group active around the 1980's. Notable about this group is that it had Chu Ishikawa, a huge figure in Japanese industrial, as a member. In fact, this is Chu Ishikawa's first industrial group. Unfortunately they didn't have a huge discography, one single and a handful of compilation appearances. A huge part of their sound is straight up scrap metal percussion, with power tools and other instruments like drums. Overall, they have a pretty stripped down and raw sound, and on their compilation appearances they even show some influence from no wave.
There isn't much to sift through considering they only put out so much, but the Schlagen / Dimension single is the best and most available example of their work.
After Zeitlich Vergelter, Chu Ishikawa went on to do soundtrack work as a solo artist, most notably for the Tetsuo: Iron Man film and sequels, and also played in the industrial band Der Eisenrost.
